The Big List of Booths of Fighters Practice Charts

Last updated: May 2022

Booths of Fighters ("BoF") is notable for having been in a 10-dan SKILL ANALYZER course in every SDVX game since GRAVITY WARS. The distinctive, long double stairs pattern of 12ths at a relatively fast 225 BPM takes a while to get used to, making it a blocker for those wishing to move onto 11-dan.

This post is a list of recommended charts for practising BoF for those around the 10-dan level (i.e. mostly Lv17s), roughly sorted by how useful they are.

Keep the chain!

Sakura Mirage (MXM 17)

Recommendation level: ★★★★★
BPM: 187
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Be careful not to confuse this with the -Drum'n World- remix! This is the original Sakura Mirage by Ryu☆.

The abundance of shorter bursts of double stairs make this a perfect practice chart. The BPM is slower than BoF but they're at 16ths rather than 12ths, meaning that the speed is similar too (in fact, it's ~11% faster than BoF, good for practising hand speed).

This chart is on the difficult end for 17s, especially with the one-handed FX trills in one section, but if you're tackling BoF you're probably ready for this chart too.

Borealis (EXH 17)

Recommendation level: ★★★★☆
BPM: 196
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Borealis is slightly slower than BoF, and has double presses on 8ths rather than BoF's 12ths. This makes it overall about ~58% of BoF's speed, which is nice if you're just starting to get used to the pattern. There's a consistent strong beat the song which helps with keeping the rhythm.

This chart is a lower difficulty 17 that also features a lot of one-hand patterns. Additionally there's a chordjacks section at measures 81–82 that can be a bit tricky if you're not used to them.

CUTIE☆EX-DREAM (EXH 17)

Recommendation level: ★★★★☆
BPM: 188
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Most of CUTIE's double press patterns are on one side only, but that makes them particularly useful for practicing alternating left-right-left or right-left-right hand.

The chart overall is a mid-tier buttons-oriented 17.

零次元エクスプレス (MXM 17)

Recommendation level: ★★★★☆
BPM: 160
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Reijigen Express has a lot of double presses here and there, with the pattern on the left column above appearing twice in the song – once at the start and once at the end. Additionally, there's a bonus section at the very end as well.

The chart overall is on the mid-to-high end of the 17s, with some tricky button patterns like double jacks and inward stairs with FX chips thrown in.

Star☆Beat (MXM 18)

Recommendation level: ★★★★☆
BPM: 185
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Star☆Beat has a fairly long section of various types of double BT patterns which serve as good practice. In particular, measures 74 to 77 require you to be able to hit stairs in both directions.

Overall the chart is not that hard of an 18 – just be careful of some jumpy one-hand patterns. The long-running side lasers make it easier to score on as well.

Time to Air -Fly High Remix-

Recommendation level: ★★★☆☆
BPM: 202
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

This otherwise all-rounder mid-to-high tier 17 really only has one section relevant for practising, but it's a long one with the odd knob thrown in.

{albus} (EXH 17)

Recommendation level: ★★★☆☆
BPM: 198
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

{albus} has a somewhat tricky section where the double stairs go the same direction in succession, which has a decent overlap in similarity to BoF's patterns while being much easier to read. There are also a few double stair patterns elsewhere in the chart, albeit slower as they are 8ths instead of 12ths.

The chart is a mid-to-high tier 17 overall with an abundance of one-hand patterns.

ロンロンへ ライライライ!(GRV 17)

Recommendation level: ★★★☆☆
BPM: 156
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Ronron e rairairai! GRV has 6 small bursts of double BTs, mostly in the opening. It's a mid-tier level 17 chart.

The middle of the chart is also good practice for vertical trills, and the chart in general is good practice for BT trills while holding FX buttons. Be careful of the cross-hand knobs towards the end!

ラクガキスト (EXH 16)

Recommendation level: ★★★☆☆
BPM: 199
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Like Borealis, Luckgakist is also slightly slower than BoF and has double presses on 8ths rather than BoF's 12ths. The chart also has a lot of button trills and stairs, so it's good practice for those too. The lower difficulty of the chart makes it a nice one to start out on if you're still getting used to 17s.

Ghost Family Living In Graveyard (EXH 17)

Recommendation level: ★★☆☆☆
BPM: 238
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

GFLIG features many short bursts of double stairs in triples. Additionally the song is slightly faster than BoF, which can be a plus if you want to practise for hand speed.

However, considerable knob proficiency is also needed for the chart, making it quite a high difficulty 17 and a bit tricky to recommend. If you're having trouble with the triangular knob patterns in this chart, try practising on Pet Peeve (EXH 17).

Warriors Aboot (EXH 18)

Recommendation level: ★★☆☆☆
BPM: 175
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Warriors Aboot has a nice abundance of double stairs towards the end. If you're able to get past these, then you're probably able to do decently at clearing BoF.

The chart is, however, a mid-to-higher tier 18 which also makes it trickier to recommend. Be careful of the cross-hand knobs!

セツナトリップ (EXH 15)

Recommendation level: ★★☆☆☆
BPM: 145
Links: YouTube (DDX), sdvx.in

Setsuna Trip only has two small bits with double stairs, but deserves a mention in this list because it gave rise to the term セツナ押し ("Setsuna press") due to measure 48 in the guitar solo. It's also a low-level chart at a slow BPM, so if you want to start practising very early on this could be your first stop.
